Advanced Acupuncture
According to Classical Chinese Medicine, good health is dependent on Qi or vital energy moving easily through the body along lines called channels. Simply described, Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles (which are unlike needles used for vaccinations) at various acupuncture points located on the body to clear blockages of Qi which may be causing physical or emotional symptoms. Acupuncture works to regulate body function, eliminate pain, expel pathology and restore health and wellbeing.
Advanced Acupuncture utilises 68 channels. Not only the 12 Primary channels, which are more commonly taught within our Acupuncture education, but also the 56 Complement channels, which include Sinew, Luo, Divergent, and 8 Extraordinary channels.

Sinew Channels
Sinew Channels are the most superficial/external pathways of energy on the body. We use these channels to restore movement to the physical body, particularly conditions affecting the muscles, tendons and ligaments. Including aches, sprain, strain, injury, neuropathy, numbness, weakness, loss of function and pain. Particularly indicated for acute conditions but also used for chronic or ‘old’ injury.

8 Extraordinary Channels
8 Extraordinary channels may be used for conditions which ‘run in the family’ or issues affecting our deepest level of Qi, our blueprint for life. This includes illnesses that may show in infancy and childhood, birth trauma, PTSD, structural alignment and gait problems, fertility challenges, hormonal disorders, questions around our identity, how we see ourselves in the world and our place in it.
